Zabriske Point

Zabriske_Pt_500W

Location: Death Valley Nation Point, USA

Camera: Linhof Technika IV 4×5

Lens: 240 mm Schneider G-Claron

Film: Kodak TMax 100

About the Moment: This photograph was taken while on a spring break trip in college. It was a windy day and dust was flying everywhere. Much of my film from this trip was ruined by the dust. This shot had some dust in the sky above the horizon – that worked out fine with this photo as I had envisioned it as a panoramic image before shooting the frame.

Time of Year: Late March.

Filters, Effects, Digital Manipulations: A #12 minus-blue filter was used to lighten the peak in the distance. No digital manipulations were used to produce this photograph.
